UP Secures Second Place in Water Conservation Among States
Uttar Pradesh has been awarded second place in the country for outstanding work in water conservation and management, as well as for providing piped water to households in rural areas. The award ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Tuesday, where President Draupadi Murmu presented the award to Anurag Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary of the Department of Rural Water Supply, and Housing Commissioner Dr Balkar Singh.
Additionally, Banda district in Uttar Pradesh received first prize in the district category for water conservation efforts. The award was accepted by Durga Shakti Nagpal, the then-District Magistrate of Banda (currently posted as DM of Lakhimpur), from President Murmu. The President praised Uttar Pradesh's initiatives to provide tap water to every household and innovative efforts in water conservation.
