What Developed Countries Couldn’t Achieve on Climate Change, We Have Demonstrated: Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that what developed countries couldn’t do regarding climate change, India has already achieved nine years ahead of schedule. Speaking at the launch of Metro Rail projects in Ahmedabad on Monday, PM Modi remarked that India had fulfilled its climate change goals set for 2030, during the G20 summit in Paris, nine years ahead of time. He emphasized that India is preparing for the next 1,000 years by focusing on renewable energy, water conservation, and sustainability.
During the event, he also inaugurated various wind energy projects worth more than ₹7,000 crores. He said India’s ambition is to make rapid progress by preparing for the future in key areas like renewable energy. He stressed that the coming 1,000 years would require a focus on clean energy and green initiatives to ensure future generations have a sustainable environment.
Achievements and Priorities in 100 Days
PM Modi also shared that in the past 100 days, India had made significant progress on more than 15 key projects, reflecting the country’s speed and priorities. He emphasized that India has been working not just on metro rail systems but also on preparing its infrastructure for the next century. He highlighted how India is laying the foundation for sustainable development, noting that the economy is growing rapidly and will play a crucial role in the global landscape.
India’s Development for the 21st Century
Modi explained that India's development would make the 21st century the era of India. He emphasized that under his government, India had already surpassed several development milestones that had not been achieved for years, and he mentioned that India's future looked even brighter. He noted that India is preparing to become a developed nation by 2047 and will be a self-sufficient global leader.
The Prime Minister further emphasized the importance of sustainable energy sources like wind and solar, ensuring that these will drive the economy in the future. He pointed out that over 140 crore citizens will make India’s economy among the top globally, with increased productivity in all sectors.
Wind Energy Projects Worth Over ₹7,000 Crores
In the first 100 days of the new government term, significant wind energy projects, costing more than ₹7,000 crores, were launched. These projects are expected to generate thousands of jobs and provide renewable energy to millions of households across the country.
